Local Agencies Receive Federal Funding For Bullet-Proof Vests

(Washington, D.C.)– Some local law enforcement agenceis are getting federal funding to purchase bullet-proof vests.

The money is coming from the U-S Department of Justice’s Bulletproof Vest Partnership Grant.

Under the program, the Arnolds Park Police Department will receive 505-dollars; the Buena Vista County Sheriff’s Office will receive 3,108-dollars; the Clay County Sheriff’s Office will get 483-dollars; 754-dollars has been awarded to the Hartley Police Department; the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office will receive 273-dollars; and the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office will get 2,298-dollars through the program.

More than 200-thousand dollars is being distributed to various Iowa law enforcement agencies to purchase the vests.
