(Spirit Lake)– A Spirit Lake youth sustained minor injuries Thursday evening when a bike he was riding collided with a car in downtown Spirit Lake.
Police say the collision took place as 15-year-old Emily Boettcher of Spirit Lake had stopped for a red light and was making a right turn from Highways nine and 71 onto Hill Avenue, and the bike, ridden by 15-year-old Thomas Morse of Spirit Lake, was southbound.
Morse was taken by his father to Dickinson County Memorial Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries. No injuries were reported to Boettcher.
800-dollars in damage was estimated to a 1995 Buick driven by Boettcher.
The mishap took place shortly before 9:30 p.m.
