(West Okoboji)– A teenager was seriously injured early this (Thurs.) morning when a bicycle he was riding was involved in a collision with a car.
The name of the 13-year-old male hasn’t been released. He was taken by ambulance to Dickinson County Memorial Hospital with multiple injuries. He was later transferred to a Sioux Falls hospital. His condition wasn’t available.
The driver of the car, 25-year-old Clinton Clark of Spirit Lake, wasn’t injured. A 1994 Mercury he was driving sustained an estimated two-thousand dollars in damage.
The Iowa State Patrol says the incident took place around 1:00 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 71 and 202nd Street in West Okoboji.
Authorities say the child was riding the bicycle southbound along the highway when the collision took place.
The incident remains under investigation.
