(Wallingford)– Another major road construction project is about to get underway in the area.
Phil Spencer of the Iowa Department of Transportation’s regional construction office in Cherokee tells KUOO news a safety enhancement project will start this coming Tuesday on Highway four between Wallingford and U-S Highway 18.
Spencer says the lane width will be narrowed at four different locations in that area. The project involves pipe extensions, safety dikes, bridge approaches and guard rail installations.
The project has an October 15th completion date.
Peterson Contracting of Reinbeck, Iowa is the general contractor on the 482-thousand dollar project.
