(Linn Grove)– Four teenage girls were sent to the hospital following a two-vehicle crash near Linn Grove Saturday.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says the collision occurred around 10:00 a.m. on Highway 10 about a mile and-a-half east of the Linn Grove turn-off.
Vehicles driven by 18-year-old Kayla Dvorak of Spencer and 17-year-old Kimberly Goettsch of Peterson collided on Highway 10.
The Goettsch vehicle was eastbound when it started to fishtail on some ice. The car crossed the centerline and was struck by Dvorak’s westbound car. Goettsch’s car ended up in the north ditch.
She was taken to Spencer Hospital and later flown to a hospital in Sioux Falls.
Dvorak and two passengers in her vehicle, 17-year-old Laura Van Tassell and 18-year-old Ashley Boisen of Spencer were taken to Spencer Hospital.
The Iowa State Patrol, Peterson Rescue Crew and the Spencer Hospital ambulance assisted on the scene.
