(Estherville)– The Iowa Lakes Community College TRIO program is getting some federal funding.
The U-S Department of Education has awarded a grant of 337-thousand dollars to Iowa Lakes to help sustain the program’s future.
The TRIO program is designed to motivate and support students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Students are also assisted in preparing for college entrance exams and in looking and applying for financial aid.
A total of 2.8 million dollars is being awarded to Iowa colleges and universities for the TRIO program.
