(Spirit Lake)– Speed limits are being reduced on two Dickinson county roads out of concern for safety and dust.
The board of supervisors Tuesday authorized County Engineer Dan Eckert to reduce the speed limit on county road M-27 in Lake Park from the Industrial Road to the railroad tracks from 45 miles-per-hour to 35.
Eckert was also authorized to lower the limit on 180th Avenue between 220th and 260th streets from 55 miles-per-hour to 45. That road is currently used by many motorists as a detour and a contractor is using it to haul gravel. Residents along the road have been complaining about dust.
