(Jackson, Mn.)– They’re tallying up the damages from severe thunderstorms that tore through portions of the region Sunday evening.
Golfball to baseball-size hail pummelled portions of Jackson county. Hail nearly two inches in diameter was reported by law enforcement officials around 5:20 p.m. about three miles north of Jackson and again at about 5:55 p.m. about 10 miles west of Jackson. Another report of hail nearly two inches in diameter was received by the National Weather Service shortly after 6:00 p.m. in section 13 of Hunter Township in Jackson county.
There were also reports of large hail in northwest Iowa. Three-quarter inch diameter hail was reported shortly before 7:30 p.m. about four miles southeast of Webb in Clay county.
