(Spirit Lake)– Officials were finally able to upright a crane early this (Wed.) afternoon that collapsed Tuesday on the roof of Pure Fishing in Spirit Lake.
Hundreds of people looked on in a nearby cemetary as crews hooked onto the collapsed crane with another, larger machine and lifted it off the building.
Production resumed today (Wed.) but officials say it’s going to be awhile before things in the molding department get back to normal. That’s where the crane went through the roof…on the southwest side of the plant.
Ron Crowley, Director of Corporate Engineering, says several large beams in that area were heavily damaged and steam, gas and other lines in the ceiling were severed.
