Chief Judge Of The Third Judicial District Retires

(Sioux City)– The Chief Judge of the Third Judicial District is retiring.

Judge Richard J. Vipond will step down effective January 1st, 2003. He’s served as Chief Judge since 1985. Vipond, who lives in Denison, was appointed a district judge in 1982.

A news release says Judge Vipond will apply to continue to serve the Third Judicial District as a Senior Judge working 13 weeks each calendar year.

A reception for Judge Vipond will be held later this year.
