(Estherville)– Iowa Lakes Community College’s new Chief Academic Officer has been on the job a month now.
Doctor Rick Underbakke says he’s established several goals. One of them is a proposal for uniform numbering of classes among the various community colleges in the state. He says it would eliminate a lot of confusion among both students and the schools.
Underbakke also says it’s vital Iowa Lakes Community College continues to increase enrollment during this time of budget cuts. He says having more students means college officials will be able to keep tuition more in line.
Underbakke has considerable experience with community colleges, having taught various courses at Des Moines Area Community College and serving as Dean at Northeast Iowa Community College, where he spent the last three years.
