House Leaders Stump For Vetter

November 23, 2014

(Okoboji)– Leaders of the Iowa House were in Okoboji Thursday evening stumping for Bonnie Vetter of Spencer, who’s running against Democratic incumbent Greg Stevens.

Chris Rants of Sioux City, House Majority leader, says the economy is going to be the major issue for Republicans in the fall campaign.

Rants says the upcoming session of the Iowa Legislature should be one of the most interesting in recent years thanks to re-districting. He says many newly elected members will have an opportunity to jump into key leadership positions.

Bill Dix, Assistant House Majority Leader, joined Rants in Okoboji. He commented on signs of a slight improvement in the state’s financial picture. Dix says it’s way too early to tell if there’s reason to be optimistic as we’re only a month and-a-half into the new fiscal year.
