SLHS Students Can Expect Inconveniences When Classes Resume Tuesday

November 23, 2014

(Spirit Lake)– Spirit Lake High School students will have some inconveniences to put up with classes resume this coming Tuesday. That word from Principal Sheryl Hall.

An ongoing major remodeling project and the construction of a new addition onto the high school will have seniors going without lockers for atleast a month or so. Hall says they should leave valuables at home or check them in at the office. Freshmen, sophomores and juniors will be sharing lockers until the new ones are installed.

Hall says parking could be an issue as well…especially if the student parking area isn’t paved by Tuesday. Parking will still be allowed along Hill Avenue for awhile. Even when the lot is complete, Hall says the driveway off 28th street will serve as an ENTRANCE only. Students will have to exit on Erie Avenue. Hall says the change is intended to ease congestion on 28th Street.

Hall is also urging freshmen and any other new students at SLHS to attend an orientation Monday morning at 7:30 in the high school multi-purpose room. Breakfast will be served.
