(Estherville)– Iowa Lakes Community College is thinking about buying a hangar and the land it sits on at the Estherville airport.
The college’s board of trustees decided Tuesday to proceed with talks to possibly purchase the hangar, owned by Purina Mills. The company is anxious to find a buyer, since the closing of the Golden Sun offices in Estherville.
College officials say the hangar would be a good match for the school’s growing aviation program.
More action is expected at the next board meeting.
Trustees also set September 17th as the date for a public hearing on a new Student Senate building at the Estherville campus. Bids for the project will be received September 10th.
