Construction Site Fire Destroys Machine

November 23, 2014

(Milford)– Some machinery was destroyed early this (Wed.) morning in a fire at a construction site near Milford.

The Milford Fire Department was called to the site, owned by Rohlin Construction, about two miles west of the Oh Shucks Convenience Store.

Fire Chief Don Eckard says a machine that heats oil used for asphalt had caught on fire when a worker was trying to start it up. The machine was destroyed and a nearby rock crusher was damaged.

A dollar amount of damage wasn’t immediately available.

Eckard says the cause may have been electrical in nature.

The Milford Fire Department was called to the scene around 6:20 a.m. Firefighters were at the scene about an hour.

No injuries were reported.
