(Graettinger)– Autopsy results show a Graettinger man who’s body was found in a house fire early Wednesday died of smoke inhalation.
Firefighters and law enforcement officers were called to 310 South Lincoln in Graettinger around 5:00 a.m. The body of 40-year-old Charles Petersen was found in an upstairs bedroom. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The State Fire Marshall’s Office says the blaze was the result of improperly discarded smoking materials. It started in a sofa.
Petersen was a veteran of the Graettinger Fire Department.
