(Estherville)– An area fire department is getting a sizable grant from a federal agency.
Congressman Tom Latham says the Estherville Fire Department has been awarded a 65,610-dollar grant through the Federal Emergency Management Agency. It’s one of 517 such grants that are being awarded nationwide. Almost 20-thousand applications were received for the funding.
Latham says the grant will assist in training, firefighter health and safety programs, new equipment, EMS and fire prevention and safety programs.
