(Wahpeton)– A republican running for fifth district congressman was in the Iowa Great Lakes this past Friday evening.
Steve King of rural Odeboldt was among a slate of Republican candidates that spoke at the annual gathering of Dickinson county Pachyderms.
King told KUOO news one of the resounding themes of his campaign is economic development. King says too much federal money for road construction is going to other parts of Iowa. He says it’s also vital high speed internet be made available to rural areas; and improving grain and livestock markets are a priority. King says he was in Washington, D.C. last week and is confident of landing a seat on the House Ag Committee if elected.
When it comes to Iraq, King says he’s in support of President Bush’s resolution calling for military action if there’s evidence Saddam Hussein is building weapons of mass destruction along with chemical and/or biological weapons.
