(Milford)– The help wanted sign is out at the Milford Police Department.
The city council Monday evening accepted with regret the resignation of officer Jeremy Bellis. Bellis submitted his resignation a couple of weeks ago. It was effective Monday. Advertising to fill the position will begin this week.
Council members also Monday adopted a new policy for Tax Increment Finance Districts. It spells out the responsibilities of the city and developers.
The council also scheduled a meeting with a committee looking into building a new fire station for 6:00 p.m. this Thursday. It was reported Monday evening that the committee is looking at a 900-thousand dollar project. City council members say it’s vital the project has support of the various townships and cities of West Okoboji and Wahpeton which are served by the fire department before any construction starts.
