Charges Filed Against Estherville Man

November 23, 2014

(Estherville)– An Estherville man has been charged in connection with an alleged incident last Sunday.

23-year-old Santos Jose Aguilera of Estherville told authorities he had been stabbed in an altercation. An investigation led authorities to the other party involved. Upon further investigation, police determined Aguilera was the aggressor. He’s accused of stabbing the victim in the armpit. Police allege Aguilera cut his own arm by punching the window of the victim’s vehicle. Aguilera has been charged with willful injury, a class “C” felony.

Authorities say the investigation resulted in a search warrant being executed on a residence on north fifth street in Estherville. Numerous items were seized, including blank social security and resident alien cards, along with equipment allegedly used to manufacture fake U-S documents.

Additional charges of fourth degree criminal mischief, possession of drug paraphernalia and felony fraud were filed against Aguilera as a result.

Aguilera is being held in the Emmet county jail.
