(Spirit Lake)– The execution of two search warrants has resulted in drug charges being filed against a man, a woman and two juveniles…all from Spirit Lake.
Spirit Lake police have charged 50-year-old Richard Newbiggen with possession of a controlled substance, marijuana; possession of drug paraphernalia; keeping a disorderly house; and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Newbiggen is being held in the Dickinson county jail.
A male juvenile was charged with possession of a controlled substance, marijuana; keeping a disorderly house; and possession of drug paraphernalia. He has been transported to a juvenile detention facility.
A second male juvenile was charged with possession of a controlled substance, marijuana; and frequenting a disorderly house. He was released to the custody of his parents.
Authorities say those arrests were the result of a search warrant executed around 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at 910 11th Street in Spirit Lake.
Police say their investigation resulted in another search warrant being executed around midnight Wednesday night on an apartment at Lakes Apartments in Spirit Lake. 22-year-old Lisa Marie King of Spirit Lake was charged with two counts of distribution of a controlled substance to a person under the age of 18…a class “B” felony; possession of a controlled substance, marijuana; prohibited acts-unlawfully transporting a controlled substance in a motor vehicle; and possession of drug paraphernalia. King was booked into the Dickinson county jail.
Spirit Lake Police Chief Jon Martyr says an investigation continues and more arrests are likely.
