(Devils Lake, N.D.)– An Estherville man is presumed drowned in North Dakota.
Authorities in Benson county, North Dakota say 65-year-old Dennis Hageman of Estherville was in a boat with an Illinois man retrieving some duck decoys when the boat was capsized by a large wave. The body of the Illinois man, identified as 70-year-old George Freidinger, has been recovered; a search for Hageman was continuing.
Benson County Sheriff Ned Mitzel says neither man was wearing a life jacket. Mitzel says it was very windy at the time of the mishap Monday.
