(Sioux City)– A Montgomery man has been sentenced to 65 months in prison and three years supervised release on federal firearms charges.
38-year-old Robert Hurd pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm and possession of a firearm while being a user of controlled substances.
Hurd was arrested in December of last year following a high speed chase that started in Montgomery and wound up in Montgomery. Authorities say they were physically confronted by Hurd after he was stopped. A search of the vehicle he was driving turned up a gun. Other firearms that were tossed out of the vehicle during the chase were also recovered.
