(Spirit Lake)– Dickinson county authorities are looking for whoever’s responsible for shooting some livestock.
The Sheriff’s Office says two cows and a deer were found shot to death earlier this week in rural parts of the county. It’s believed the shootings took place sometime late Tuesday night and/or early Wednesday. Sheriff Greg Baloun and Deputy Tom Lobach believe the same type of ammunition was used in each case.
One of the dead cows was found in a field along 180th Street; the other was in a field at the corner of county roads A31 and N14. The deer was found in the Acorn Ridge area.
Lobach says one of the cows was pregnant. The animals were valued at about two thousand dollars.
Livestock producers are being urged to contact local authorities if they see anything at all out of the ordinary.
