(Arnolds Park)– The Arnolds Park Amusement Park is reporting a six percent increase in attendance for this past summer. General Manager Cary Parker says that’s 32 and-a-half percent higher since 1999 when the Iowa Great Lakes Maritime Museum took over ownership of the park.
As a result, Parker says they expect a small profit for the year.
Meanwhile, he says they’ll use the off-season to continue looking at ways to further boost business and attendance. Parker says they’re talking with manufacturers of major rides and attractions to see if they’d be willing to lease such an item to the park for the summer months, then moving it to a warm weather climte or an indoor site. Otherwise, he says, it simply isn’t feasible for a facility the size of Arnolds Park to operate such a major ride or attraction.
