AP-Okoboji Fire Department Responds To Oven Fire

November 23, 2014

(Okoboji)– The Arnolds Park-Okoboji Fire Department was called to an oven fire Sunday at Minerva’s Restaurant at Village East Resort in Okoboji.

Fire Chief Steve Dulin says some grease apparently overheated and started on fire. He says a maintenance worker used a couple of fire extinguishers on it and pretty much had the fire put out by the time firefighters arrived. Dulin says they shut off the gas to the oven and an exhaust system ventilated the building. He says there was little or no damage, and no injuries were reported.

The Arnolds Park-Okoboji Fire Department was called to the scene around 2:45 p.m. yesterday. Firefighters were on the scene about 20 minutes.
