(Arnolds Park)– About 20 agents with the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation and the Iowa Lottery Tuesday raided Okoboji Casino Supplies, Nautical Gifts and Jewelry on Highway 71 in Arnolds Park…formerly known as Vegas Big Boy Toys.
Julie Hamilton, a special agent in charge with the D-C-I, says they were executing a search warrant based on a complaint the business was allegedly selling used slot machines. She says it’s illegal to sell or possess the machines in the state of Iowa. Hamilton says about 58 machines, with a value estimated at 100-thousand dollars, were seized in today’s raid. She says information that was gathered in the raid is being turned over to the Dickinson County Attorney’s office for prosecution. Hamilton says as of right now no charges have been filed and no arrests have been made.
The raid started around 10:00 this morning…drawing the attention of numerous passers-by. Agents were on the scene until mid-afternoon.
The D-C-I and Iowa Lottery were assisted by the Arnolds Park and Okoboji Police Departments, Dickinson COunty Sheriff’s Office and the Clay and Dickinson County Attorney’s offices.
