(Rock Valley)– A Rock Valley woman has been charged with first degree murder in the death of a nursing home resident.
Authorities say the charge against 26-year-old Christine Lee Ann VanOort stems from the death last spring of Dick Post, who was a resident at Valley Manor Nursing Home in Rock Valley. Authorities say Post died on April 16th of this year. Assistant County Attorney Coleman McAllister says VanOort was an employee of the nursing home at the time.
VanOort was arrested Tuesday evening and is being held on 500-thousand dollars bond at the Osceola county jail in Sibley. A preliminary hearing is set for 10:00 a.m. this coming Thursday, December 12th.
Authorities aren’t saying how Post died.
The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office says an investigation is continuing.
