(Spirit Lake)– A two-vehicle accident late Thursday afternoon in Spirit Lake sent one person to the hospital with minor injuries.
Police say vehicles driven by 21-year-old Klayton Duin of Estherville and 88-year-old Jerold Kelley of Spirit Lake collided at the intersection of Highway 71 and 23rd Street shortly after 3:30 p.m.
Kelley was taken by ambulance to Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake where he was treated and released.
Authorities say Duin was northbound on Highway 71 as Kelley was southbound and was attempting a left turn onto 23rd street when the two collided.
Kelley was charged with failure to yield while making a left turn.
Six thousand dollars in damage was estimated to a 1991 Oldsmobile driven by Duin; damage to a 1992 Ford Taurus Kelley was driving was estimated at five thousand dollars.
