(Milford)– Abnormally warm, dry weather and no snow cover has local authorities concerned over the potential for grass fires.
The Milford Fire Department was called to such a fire Sunday on Highway 86 a half mile north of O’Shuck’s. Fire Chief Don Eckard says a trash fire got out of hand and was spreading toward a nearby storage building. Eckard says they were able to get it extinguished before it got that far.
No injuries were reported.
Firefighters were called to the scene around noon Sunday. They were there about a half-hour.
Anyone doing any open burning is asked to use extreme caution.
