(Spirit Lake)–Some area newspapers are changing hands.
Rust Communications of Cape Girardeau, Missouri has acquired the Dickinson County News, The Okobojian, The Spencer Daily Reporter, Northwest Iowa Shopper, Storm Lake Pilot-Tribune, and the Buena Vista County Shopper. A paper in Indiana has also been acquired by Rust.
The transaction was effective Wednesday.
Some other changes are taking place at the Dickinson County News. The paper’s manager and its sports reporter abruptly resigned prior to the paper being sold.
