(Milford)– KUOO news has learned no resolution was reached Thursday in a mediation session between opponents of a proposed four thousand head hog confinment near Milford and the company that wants to build it, Dutch Creek Farms.
The group opposing the operation issued a statement to that affect, saying although a resolution wasn’t reached, that the channels of communication remain open, and they’re trying to cooperate. But, the statement says, their only other alternative may be the court system.
The state’s Environmental Protection Commission will hold a public hearing later this month on an appeal Dickinson county has filed over a construction permit the D-N-R has approved for the operation. As KUOO news reported previously, that hearing is set for 1:00 p.m. January 22nd at the D-N-R offices in Urbandale.
