(Orleans)– A Spirit Lake man was found lying along a road this (Sat.) morning suffering from hypothermia.
The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office says some fishermen found the man lying near Highway 276 in the Buffalo Run area on the west side of Big Spirit Lake. They covered him with some coats and contacted authorities. The man, who’s name hasn’t been released, was taken by ambulance to Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake where he’s said to be in good condition.
Authorities estimate the man had been in the cold for about four hours. He was found shortly before 9:00 a.m.
Officers say the man had been out driving around early this morning, stopped, got out of his vehicle, started walking, and became disoriented.
