Teen Accomplice In Beating Death Of Minnesota Man To Spend Time At Forest Ridge

November 23, 2014

(Montevideo, Mn.)– A teenage girl from Clara City, Minnesota will be spending time at Forest Ridge Youth Academy near Estherville for her connection to the beating death of a man. The body of Jeffrey Barrett was dumped into a gravel pit near Montevideo, Minnesota.

17-year-old Nicole Doesken witnessed the beatings last August that led to Barrett’s death. Court documents say Doesken’s car was used in connection with the crime; and she failed to report the death.

In a plea agreement last month, Doesken pleaded guilty to aiding an offender in connection with Barrett’s death. A judge stayed a 120-month adult prison sentence, but ordered Doesken to complete a juvenile detention program at Forest Ridge.

Doesken apologized to the dead man’s family at her sentencing last week.
