(Jackson, Mn.)– A large contribution from a major manufacturer is making it possible for a local technical college to start up a new program.
Honda announced Thursday it’s donating 189-thousand dollars worth of engines, equipment and manuals to Minnesota West Community and Technical College.
Instructor Ed Reinders says it will make it possible for the college to start up a Power Sports Technology Lab at its Jackson campus. Reinders says the program will start this coming fall. It will be offered as a two semester diploma program with a limited enrollment.
Honda spokesman Chris Hults says Minnesota West was selected because it would make it possible for the school to offer the new program. He says there’s a growing need for technicians in the power sports industry, and he says Minnesota West has expressed a commitment to the program.
