Orange City Woman Injured In Lake Park Accident

November 23, 2014

(Lake Park)– An Orange City woman was injured in a one-vehicle accident Sunday in Lake Park.

Police say Teresa Huftyzer lost control of a 1997 Dodge Intrepid as she was rounding a snow-covered curve on Country Club Drive and slid into an electric pole owned by Alliant Energy.

Huftyzer complained of a leg injury but refused transport by the Lake Park Ambulance. She was later taken by private vehicle to Lakes Regional Healthcare where she was treated and released.

Police say Huftyzer wasn’t wearing a seatbelt.

Five thousand dollars in damage was estimated to the vehicle Huftyzer was driving; no damage was reported to the utility police.

The mishap took place shortly before 2:00 p.m.
