(Lake Park)– March 20th has been set as the date to open bids on the construction of a new seventh through 12th grade school in Lake Park.
That word from Superintendent Tim Christiansen, who says an informational meeting for firms interested in bidding is set for March 11th at the Middle school-High school building in Lake Park.
Christiansen says the board will act on the bids April 7th.
Christiansen adds the scope of the project hasn’t changed from what was originally proposed with the estimated cost at roughly seven million dollars.
The project is being funded through a bond issue voters in the Harris-Lake Park School District approved last year along with local option sales tax receipts.
The new school is being constructed as part of a new community complex being build on the south side of Lake Park.
