(Spirit Lake)– The Board of Trustees of Lakes Regional Healthcare Monday held a public hearing on its request of funding from the county for the upcoming fiscal year.
The hospital is requesting 103-thousand dollars, the same as in the past 10 years.
Hospital C-E-O Rich Kielman says that money supplements the county-wide ambulance service.
Kielman presented a report comparing the 42 county hospitals in the state with the amount of money they request from their respective county. Lakes Regional Healthcare was ranked at the bottom, requesting the least amount from the county than any other hospital.
The trustees approved the requested amount following a public hearing that drew no comments.
