(Milford)– The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office has released information into a one-vehicle accident early Thursday that sent one person to the hospital.
Authorities say 21-year-old Matthew Williams of Milford lost control of a 1995 Buick as he was traveling west on 210th Street about three miles west of Milford. The vehicle left the road to the left, went into the ditch and vaulted after striking a farm drive. The vehicle landed, hit a second drive, and vaulted again…finally coming to rest in a snowbank in the south ditch.
No injuries were reported to Williams, who was charged with operating while intoxicated, second offense; and driving while barred. He was booked into the Dickinson county jail.
A passenger in the vehicle, 27-year-old Heather Simons of Sanborn, was injured and was taken by ambulance to Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake.
No injuries were reported to two other passengers.
The vehicle Williams was driving sustained an estimated four thousand dollars in damage.
Authorities were called to the scene shortly before 3:00 a.m. Thursday.
