Charges Filed Against Three People In Spirit Lake Home Invasion

(Spirit Lake)– Charges have been filed against two juveniles and an adult in connection with a home invasion type burglary that took place Monday in Spirit Lake.

Police say they were called to a residence in the 1300 block of Gary Avenue between 12 Noon and 12:30 p.m. on a burglary report. An officer was informed two suspects had unlawfully entered the residence of the elderly female. There was no confrontation between the victim and suspects, who allegedly made off with more than two hundred dollars in cash and coins.

Three people were arrested as a result of an investigation. A 17-year-old male juvenile from Spirit Lake was charged with second degree burglary, a class “C” felony; and fourth degree theft…a serious misdemeanor.

Another 17-year-old male juvenile, also from Spirit Lake, was charged with aiding and abetting second degree burglary, a class “C” felony; and possession of stolen property…a serious misdemeanor.

Both juveniles were transported to the YES Detention Center in Cherokee.

Also charged in connection with the incident was 18-year-old Travis Kramme of Spirit Lake. He was charged with second degree burglary…a class “C” felony; and fourth degree theft…a serious misdemeanor. Kramme was booked into the Dickinson county jail.

The arrests were made around 3:00 p.m. Monday.
