(Spencer)– More arrests have been made in an ongoing drug investigation in Clay county.
The sheriff’s office says a search warrant was executed Wednesday at the Mavis Nissen residence at 208 2nd Street in Dickens. 40-year-old Nissen was charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to manufacture, a class “B” felony; possession of precursors for the manufacture of methamphetamine, a class “D” felony; child endangerment, an aggravated misdemeanor; possession of a controlled substance-methamphetamine, a serious misdemeanor; possession of a controlled substance-marijuana, a serious misdemeanor and possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor.
Authorities say the child endangerment charge was filed because Nissen’s 11 and five-year-old children live at the home.
Nissen was not immediately taken into custody due to a medical condition. She was given the opportunity to turn herself in at a later time. Nissen faces a bond of over 150-thousand dollars.
Authorities also searched the residences of 40-year-old Robert Harrod of Fostoria; 41-year-old Linnea Coover of Spencer and 33-year-old Wayne Stevens of Linn Grove.
Harrod, whose residence was searched in January, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance-methamphetamine, a class “C” felony; possession of a controlled substance-marijuana, a serious misdemeanor; and possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor. Harrod was booked into the Clay county jail on 67,275-dollars bond.
Authorities say previous information and a traffic stop resulted in the search of Coover’s residence February 3rd. Coover was arrested and charged with conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine, a class “C” felony; possession of a controlled substance-methamphetamine, a serious misdemeanor; and possession of drug paraphernalia, also a serious misdemeanor. Coover was booked into the Clay county jail on bond of 67,275-dollars.
Authorities say Stevens’ residence was searched February 18th following a traffic stop. Stevens was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver methamphetamine, a class “C” felony; possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver marijuana, a class “D” felony and possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor. Stevens was held on bond of 67,275-dollars.
To this point, Clay county authorities say they’ve seized quantities of methamphetamine, marijuana, cash and paraphernalia.
They say the investigation is ongoing and that several more arrests are imminent.
