(Spirit Lake)– Charges have been filed against a Spencer man in connection with an alleged incident earlier this week in Dickinson county.
Spirit Lake Police Chief Jon Martyr says 59-year-old Larry Steffes of Spencer was charged with assault on a peace officer…a class “D” felony; and interference with official acts, a simple misdemeanor.
Steffes is accused of slamming a door on a Spirit Lake police officer. The officer wasn’t injured.
The alleged incident took place shortly before 1:00 a.m. Tuesday in the entryway of the Dickinson County Communications Center at the courthouse in Spirit Lake.
