(Spirit Lake)– A Spirit Lake man arrested a week ago on drug charges in Estherville is back in jail after being arrested on similar charges early this morning in Sioux county.
Spirit Lake police say the latest arrest of 49-year-old Danny Frerichs of Spirit Lake stems from a search warrant executed Thursday on his residence at 3305 Center Lake Drive. Authorities say the search was conducted as part of an ongoing narcotics investigation by the Iowa State Patrol and the Estherville Police Department.
A state trooper pulled over Frerichs shortly after midnight this (Fri.) morning on Highway 60 north of Alton for possession of about a half pound of methamphetamine and assorted paraphernalia. He was booked into the Sioux county jail.
Authorities say an investigation continues and additional charges may be pending in Dickinson county.
