(Spirit Lake)– Warmer weather has allowed crews working on the expansion project at Lakes Regional Healthcare to make some good progress recently.
Hospital C-E-O Rich Kielman says most of the steel for the two-story addition is up. Kielman says work will be starting soon on plumbing and fill will be deposited so work can get underway on the first floor.
The new addition will consist of new single-occupancy patient rooms on the upper floor with an education center on the first floor. Once that’s done, existing patient rooms will be converted to single occupancy.
Kielman says the project remains on schedule for completion in November of 2004. He says the six million dollar project is also coming in on budget so far.
