(Storm Lake)– Authorities in Buena Vista county have released the identity of a person killed Tuesday in a fire near Linn Grove.
Buena Vista County Sheriff Chuck Eddy says 77-year-old Ellis Francis of Storm Lake died as the result of a fire at 4457 70th Avenue in Linn Grove. The cause of death is pending the results of an autopsy.
The sheriff’s office along with the Sioux Rapids and Peterson fire departments were called to the scene around 3:40 p.m. Tuesday. They found a large area of grass and a shed on fire.
Firefighters discovered Francis’ body after the fire had been extinguished. They aren’t saying exactly where the body was found, only that it was in one of the burned out areas.
The sheriff’s office, the State Fire Marshall’s Office and the Buena Vista County Medical Examiner are continuing their investigation.
