(Lake Park)– The Harris-Lake Park school board Monday evening awarded bids on the new middle school-high school project.
Superintendent Tim Christiansen says bids were awarded for site excavation, asphalt and paving, building concrete, steel, carpentry and drywall, architecture case work, roofing and sheet metal, glass and glazing, acoustical ceilings, flooring, painting and wall covering, plumbing, heating, ventilation and air conditioning; and electrical. Christiansen says the masonry bid came in higher than expected and will be re-bid. The project has a total price tag of about 7.2 million dollars.
The Harris-Lake Park school board also Monday held public hearings on an amendment to the current budget and on the proposed budget for the upcoming fiscal year. Christiansen says the amendment to the current budget reflects passage of the bond issue for the building project. He says the new budget has a tax rate of $12.96…up from the current budget. Christiansen says it also reflects passage of the bond issue.
