(Spencer)– A two-vehicle accident Thursday afternoon at the north junction of Highways 18 & 71 in Spencer, or the north “Y”, sent four people to the hospital.
The Iowa State Patrol says vehicles driven by 45-year-old Ronald Segelke of Sutherland and 74-year-old Gilbert Feldhacker of Milford collided in the intersection.
Segelke and a passenger in the vehicle he was driving, 19-year-old Michael Crooks of Spirit Lake, were taken by ambulance to Spencer Municipal Hospital, along with Feldhacker and a passenger in his vehicle, 72-year-old Theresa Feldhacker of Milford. The extent of their injuries wasn’t known.
Authorities say the mishap remains under investigation.
It took place around 3:10 p.m.
The Iowa State Patrol was assisted by the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, Spencer Police Department and Spencer ambulance.
