(Undated)– Dickinson and Sioux are the only two northwest Iowa counties to experience a growth in population between April 2000 and July, 2002.
That’s according to new population estimates released this week by the U-S Census Bureau.
According to the figures, Dickinson county posted a gain of six tenths of a percent, and Sioux county saw its population increase by almost eight tenths of a percent.
All other counties in the region posted losses. Among those experiencing the largest decrease was Pocahontas county at three-point-eight percent; Emmet county was down by two-point-seven percent; Osceola county at nearly two-point-six percent; Palo Alto county posted a loss of two-point-six percent; Kossuth county was down by two-point-eight percent; and Clay and O’Brien counties were down by nearly one-point-eight percent.
