Milford Council Approves Final Plat For Lower Gar Subdivision

November 23, 2014

(Milford)– With two members absent, the Milford City Council Monday unanimously approved the final plat of South Shore Estates second addition proposed for Lower Gar Lake.

The action is contingent on the City Administrator and attorney approving some slight revisions in the plat’s language.

One of the conditions is that no members of a dock association that’s to be part of the development will be allowed to use Helen Avenue to access boat slips. Anyone caught doing that will be subject to a 25 dollar fine.

In addition, developer Jim Nodland told the council he’s scaled back the number of slips in a marina for the development from 80 to 40…with 20 docks. He says the scaled back design complies with the D-N-R’s standard permitting procedure.

The matter, which has been highly controversial in the past, drew no comments from the public, and the council voted three to nothing to approve the final plat.
