(Undated)– Some northwest Iowa airports will share in 10 million dollars in federal funding for improvements.
U-S Senator Chuck Grassley says it comes from the Federal Aviation Administration’s Airport Improvement Program.
Locally the Algona Municipal Airport will receive almost 246-thousand dollars for taxiway and runway extensions; Cherokee will get about 481-thousand to rehabilitate a taxiway and apron; the Pocahontas Municipal Airport was awarded about 457-thousand dollars to expand an apron, rehabilitate some lighting and to install weather reporting equipment; Sheldon received 215-thousand to rehabilitate an apron; and the Storm Lake Municipal Airport was awarded nearly 92-thousand dollars to rehabilitate a runway.
